Jenton UV adds UV LED to PCB Conveyor for HK Wentworth.

HK Wentworth have specified Excelitas UV LED systems for a recent PCB conformal coating project. Jenton UV successfully converted an adjustable width PCB conveyor to an UV LED curing system

The Conveyor, supplied by HKW, was modified in the Jenton workshop, where it was customised in a number of ways.  First, variable speed control was added to the belt drive; secondly, a light shield was constructed to prevent UV leakage and to securely mount the three Excelitas AC8150 UV LED heads - to cure the HK Wentworth manufactured conformal coating and finally, Jenton manufactured the irradiator power supply and control system to allow variable intensity and cure parameters for the LED heads.

UV LED PCB Conveyor
HK Wentworth used the UV LED Conveyor on a working demonstration at the recent Electronica Show in Munich where it was used in line with a spray coating system to demonstrate the advantages of their UV curable coating.

“We are delighted to have been partners with Wentworth on this project” says Jeremy Woodbridge, Jenton UV Sales Manager. “We have been specifying UV for conformal coatings for many years but the new opportunities afforded by UV LED, such as mercury free, cool and stable curing make it much easier for companies to implement”

Jenton UV have a whole range of UV test equipment at their Whitchurch Facility. Potential customers are invited to visit and conduct trials to assess the advantages of the technology.                                                                               November 2018

Well, another PPMA Show over.  Our 30th and well up there with the best of them.  Our enquiry levels well into 3 figures and interest in respect of the whole portfolio – from banding machines with integral printers, to gas flush VGF bag sealers, to UV disinfection to high speed label and data verification.   All machines safely back at Jenton’s Whitchurch base and we’re buying in the biscuits for all the people coming down this week and next to see them and run samples.

Jenton Launch New ‘Baby’ Bandit Banding Machine

Banding Machine for benchtop
Baby Bandit Banding Machine

The Jenton range of Banding Machines for packaging is augmented by the 2018 Bandit® 180-30 benchtop paper Banding Machine.  With a footprint approx. the size of a sheet of A4 paper, there can be few packing / finishing areas without space for the new Bandit® machines launched in June by Jenton.  The new machines are designed for the simple bundling of stacks of printed materials, cash, small cartons and multipacks together with securely sealed paper bands. Paper is 30mm wide and can be supplied in brown, white or custom printed.  Packs up to 180mm wide can be accommodated.

“We’re really pleased with this new machine” says Richard Little, MD of Jenton, “users will be familiar with the archless method of operation, thus avoiding the possibility of paper jams in guides”.

Bandit® machines are used, in addition to bundling, for tamper evidence, labelling and multipack/BOGOF applications too.

Jenton hold a stock of these and other larger and more automated machines, many of which are available for hire.
